Save the Children’s Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean recognizes and promotes journalism that gives a voice to children and adolescents in the region.

We have named this award Eglantyne Jebb in honor of the British social activist, founder of Save the Children, who in addition to creating one of the most important organizations in the world for the promotion and defense of the rights of children and adolescents, also drafted the first Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1924, text that was the basis for the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The Eglantyne Jebb Journalism Award organized by Save the Children’s Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean is aimed at recognizing the work of journalists who publish in the media in Latin America and the Caribbean and place on the public agenda the interests, situations, problems, effects and stories of children and adolescents in the region.
